Five seasons of nflverse play-by-play derived stats — passing, rushing, receiving, kicking, IDP defense, PFR coverage and snap counts — sit in Postgres, and a scoring system is pure data on top of them. That makes “score every defensive back like a one-man team defense” a settings change rather than a feature, and lets you see what it does to the rankings before you take it to your league.
